Another Snowy Owl and Other Bird Sightings

On Wednesday I noticed a bunch of crows mobbing something in the field so took a closer look with my binoculars and... it was another Snowy Owl! After getting a few photos I was able to confirm that is was a different individual than the last few. Besides the owl, not much has been around lately, but it was a surprise when a female Indigo Bunting showed up on Dec 6. After reporting it to eBird I got a couple people asking for photos because it would almost seem more likely to find a rare Painted Bunting or Blue Grosbeak at this time of year. In the end it ended up being a plain old Indigo Bunting, but hopefully I’ll find one of the rarer buntings soon. I’ll list a few other birds of note: A few late Common Grackle and Red-winged Blackbird, another late-ish Hermit Thrush, a few White-winged Crossbills, a large flock of around 35 Bohemian Waxwing, and a local Northern Shrike.

Here are a few photos...
