Return of the Saw-whet Owl

 

Just today I was outside doing nothing in particular, when suddenly I heard a flock of Jays squawking in the distance. Right away I knew that they were mobbing something, so as usual I went to investigate. After trekking through a thicket of conifers (and getting the insides of my boots soaked), I finally found it. It was the Saw-whet Owl! Originally I thought It had moved on, but I guess not. It looks like I may have a resident Saw-whet Owl!

Thanks to a fellow bird photographer that dropped in, he let me photograph the Owl with his HUGE Canon 600mm f/4!
