Northern Saw-whet Owl in late December
On December 28, I was walking around the yard, birding, when I noticed a flock of Jays and Chickadees mobbing something in the row of cedars in my backyard. On closer inspection my eyes suddenly came across a Northern Saw-whet Owl! Awesome!! Only the second one I've had around my yard, with this being the first one I've gotten good views and photos of. The owl has been around for two days so far, but hopefully it'll stick around for longer. Besides the owl, not much has been around lately besides the local winter birds but 3 Common Grackles are still around and I did find another Hoary Redpoll.
Stay tuned for my annual "End of the Year Birding Review" post.
